There are so many shops to see in Bundy, starting with the major shopping centre which is Sugarland Shoppingtown. Open daily except for Sundays, you can also enjoy late night trading on Thursday nights until 9pm. Atm and Banks available in store, plenty of parking for convenience, a mothers room for those feeding small children, toilet facilities and plenty of mobility for those who require wheelchair access. You can purchase gift vouchers from the main centre and there is just tones of interesting stores to chose from to have a shop in. Jewellers, Flash Harry’s, food outlets and Sunglasses stores.

Clothing stores for a variety of ages and Big W is the main outlet in the centre, and there are stores such as Katies which is great for fashion bargains for all ages. Brumbys is waiting for you to call in and grab youself a tasty treat from a variety of freshly baked savouries and sweets. The newsagents is great for picking up your local paper, or wishing to buy a scratchie or lottery ticket or gift card. The flight centre is waiting to make your booking to travel outside of the region and there is games store for the kids to be amused. With all this on offer, why not drop in to Sugarland Shoppingtown today. Hinkler Central is another fabulous shopping centre that we researched about. This shopping center is turning four and has many competitions on offer for the whole family to enjoy being a part of. Also another big draw card for this center is the ‘walking group’, where like minded people meet together at 730am at the centre and take part in a fun, fitness morning for $10.00, followed by a delicious hearty brekky at the Signature Cafe afterwards. This allows people to get fit and meet new people.

Kmart is the large retailer store within the centre, along with so many other smallers stores such as, fashion stores throughout to suit all ages and styles, Mobile phone stores, Bookstores, Donut King which makes the best donuts around, Cosmetics Plus has the largest variety of make up on offer and every girl loves shopping here to find a bargain. There is also flight centres, game stores, tabbaconists and Coles Supermarket for all you grocery needs. Hungry Jacks and KFC will take care of your hunger pangs when making your way through this large centre and Wendys is waiting to serve you up one of there fabulous icecream delights. This is certainly a centre worth visiting, but make sure you spare youself plenty of time when planning to come here as there is just so many stores to look in. Bundaberg is a place well worth visiting when you see just how much this place has grown over the years. Around 46,000 people call Bundy ‘home’, and it fast becoming one of the most popular places to move to in Queensland. The council reports that in the next 15 years, the population growth will be up over 50%, which when you consider the facts, that is a huge boost to the region. This will incure more jobs, more children at schooling in the area and more visitors to the area as the city boosts in overall growth. When you include major places in the area such as, Avoca, Bundaberg North and Avenell Heights, it is not hard to see why the city is ranked as 134th in the largest city in Queensland.

Bundaberg is also home to some famous iconic desitinations that are known around the world. The name ‘Bundaberg’ comes from ‘Bunda’ meaning important man and ‘berg’ being mountain. With Bundy growing at a vast rate, it was well overdue that their local airport get an upgrade. The newly vamped airport is being introduced to new flights to and from the city in the coming future. More departures out of the city and a more frequent flow into the city as Budaberg becomes a more popular place to visit.

Climate in Bundaberg

The subtropical climate allows for humid hot summers and mid cold winters in Bundaberg. Through the January months when the weather is at it’s hottest, the temperatures can be up around the 30 degree’s, and throughout the winter months the weather can be coolish at a moderate 10 degree’s.

The weather throughout the middle of the year is somewhat pleasant, with swimming being a popular thing to do for families most of the year round. The rainfall is pretty good in the area too with about 80 days out of the year with good rainfall for the city.

It is easy to see why the city is so green, and hinterlands so vibrant with colour most of the year round. In general, most locals say the weather is pleasant all year round, with some winters producing frost on the ground coverings, but this is not every year.
